The Mechanical / Controls TFA is to be responsible for the delivery of the Mechanical / Control’s scope on Gas Turbine Outages as required by the business, across diverse geographical regions. Focus will be on HSE, Service Excellence, OTD, Customer Satisfaction, Productivity and Cost control of outages. This position can be based remotely within Australia, with the ability to travel.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support Outage Planning and execution relating to mechanical/ controls scope.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are carried out in accordance with the Company’s HSE policies and guidelines - develop and implement all HSE requirements, such as Project and Task & Risk assessment.
  • Attend contractual meetings when required.
  • Troubleshoot customer GT operational problems.
  • Fault-find and troubleshoot Mechanical and Control issues on all GT systems.
  • Develop and write reports in relation to work completed and advise customers on problems or suspected problems on equipment.
  • Work with others to analyse customer requirements to clearly define critical-to-quality (CTQs) customer expectations.
  • Work with Service Engineering & the wider FSO team to understand and implement Service Excellence in all aspects of Field Service.
  • Act as project lead, when required, for GT outages, mechanical upgrades and/or modifications.
  • Participate in the training and mentoring of others within the FSO team.
  • Develop project and service work scopes.
  • Extensive travel is required to meet with site teams, outage support and regional requirements.
  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by management.
  • Electronic and mechanical reworking.
  • Calibration and adjustment of field components.
  • Programming and optimisation of different software systems with the corresponding control system platforms
  • Site management.
  • Project Management
  • Reporting structure: Australian operations.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • GE Frame 3/2, 5, 5/2, 6 & 9E overhaul work including Combustion, Hot Gas Path & Major Inspections
  • Speedtronic MKV & MKVI Control Systems
  • GT Solar T60 experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to interpret/mark-up technical drawings.
  • Familiar with GE Frame Units and Control Systems
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with both Customers and the internal EthosEnergy businesses.
  • Ability to ensure execution risks relative to customer expectations are understood and properly managed.
  • Ability to work independently in remote locations

Experience

  • Extensive GE Gas Turbine Frame Unit related experience in either the Power or Oil and Gas sectors working on single or dual fuel machines during Inspection & Commissioning.

Education Requirements

  • Qualified to at least HNC/HND level in relevant subject or equivalent qualification
  • Trade or tertiary qualifications in mechanical or electrical

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to travel internationally is required.
  • Candidate must hold, or be able to obtain, a valid Australian passport and have a clear background to obtain a work visa in the various countries where we will conduct business.
