We are currently recruiting for a Instrumentation and Control System Engineer to be based at our facility in Torino. As part of the project engineering team, the position will be responsible for managing technical projects for substation automation and protection projects. The successful candidate will work with Commercial staff, Field Service, Project Managers and Operations to deliver high-quality designs, supporting also the Technical Sales staff to prepare proposals and strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analysis and evaluation of technical specifications, base designs of engineering solutions, including the preparation of drawings, calculations, bill of materials, engineering instructions and processes.
  • Applying state-of-the-art design methods, tools, and engineering practices to craft development.
  • Providing the efficient execution of projects work in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
  • Good knowledge of protection and control systems for Power Generation rotating equipment.
  • Good knowledge of application and functionality of the following equipment/systems: Gas Turbines and Auxiliary systems control and protection, Generator protections, Transformer differential protection, protections for electrical distribution, Power Plant Instrumentation.
  • Completing risk and opportunity assessments, reporting also about the contract, quality program or cost issues for resolution; communicating engineering designs and processes to internal partners and actively supplying to design reviews and customer project meetings.
  • Working with Supply Chain for input on vendor documentation, bids and proposals evaluations, materials and equipment.
  • Providing training to the other team members, including foreign colleagues; maintaining a strong network of engineering professionals, distributing engineering standard methodology across different projects and subject areas to encourage the development of junior colleagues.

  • Short term business travel to cope with Field activities related to Instrumentation and/or Control System installation, commissioning, start-up, trouble-shooting are required.
  • Remote assistance to Customer power plants on-call or under LTSA contracts.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Passionate and prepared to handle issues related to technological innovation.
  • Customer Orientation: ability to anticipate and recognize customers’ needs, be reactive and keep commitments.
  • Good organizational skills to react to multiple inquiries in a timely and professional manner This is a position requiring attention to detail with a strong focus on time and task management, capable of handling many orders and tasks in parallel.
  • Solid experience in technical department within Instrumentation and Automation, with a products’ portfolio made of Control, Command, Protection and Instrumentation devices and their standard applications in the Power Generation Field.
  • Solid experience in Hardware and system architecture design and in Software development.
  • Good knowledge of Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong orientation to reach targets, initiative, autonomy and propensity to work in a team.
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and a collective approach.
  • Positive relationship building skills with customers, and extensive knowledge of the energy market.


  • Confirmed experience in a similar role.
  • Commercial, engineering and field service experience on Industry and Power Generation Instrumentation and Control systems.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's / Three Years Master's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Automation or Technical High School Diploma.
  • Other professional technical specific paths (Diploma graduated) can be evaluated in case of proven excellence.

Physical Requirements

  • Availability to travel for Site activities up to 20% of the time is mandatory. #LI-DNI
