EthosEnergy is currently recruiting for a Field Service Estimator/Scheduler responsible for preparing and/or coordinating proposals along with their respective project schedules from conception to completion; this includes estimating and creating project schedules for ALL work that requires a bid or estimate. The primary focus will be gas and steam turbine generator units for a variety of OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews and evaluates Requests for Estimates/Requests for Proposals and understands scope of work to bid
  • Prepares bids and ensures timely completion of estimates and provides job tasks broken down by hours per task
  • Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy
  • Obtains pricing for materials and labor from subcontractors
  • Has the ability to evaluate subcontractor costs and review same for completeness
  • Utilizes job folders, proposal and estimating templates
  • Experience with mature frame Westinghouse gas turbines would be a plus
  • The job will require attending job walks as necessary. Some travel will require overnight stays
  • Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate based on experience and/or seeks additional input
  • Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer databases
  • Provides technical leadership and expertise in project scheduling to ensure consistent application of industry-standard processes
  • Plans and prepares field service schedules for major maintenance projects in MS Project and Primavera (P6)
  • Works closely with the estimating and resourcing team for sequencing and loading of proposed projects and optimizes schedules
  • Reviews customer and subcontractor schedules for adherence to project specifications and need dates
  • Works with project leads to monitor and adjust schedules on ongoing projects
  • Develops and maintains a database of similar projects to create schedule templates
  • Uses outage lessons learned to more efficiently manage future contracts
  • Prepares and submits weekly and monthly reports to identify resource constraints and interference between projects for critical decision-making purposes
  • Identifies problems and risks that could compromise delivery on contracts and elevates to proper level of management as required to ensure these problems are resolved in a timely and efficient manner

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of and proficiency with MS office products (especially Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Able to work under sometimes challenging deadline pressures
  • In-depth knowledge, understanding and application of MS Project and Primavera (P6) scheduling software and critical path/critical tasks for a Field Service
  • Understands complex, large maintenance project work scopes, is familiar with logical project execution sequences and critical interdependencies between engineering, procurement, repairs, and Field Service
  • Basic knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as accounting, business administration, mechanical or electrical technology
  • A working knowledge of steam and gas turbine mechanical principals is required
  • A working knowledge of commercial terms and conditions is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation delivery to large / small groups
  • Strong business partnering skills to lead, influence, and drive behavior change without formal authority

Experience

  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience managing steam and gas turbine projects.
  • Experience and ability to work within a large matrix organization and ability to utilize different resources is preferred
  • Strong gas and steam turbine power plant industry experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in advanced technology gas turbine power plants or similar environment preferred
  • Experience in proposal development and opportunity development in support of sales for steam and gas turbines is preferred, but not required
  • Sales experience would be a plus

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or other relevant field experience, to include eight (8) to ten (10) years equivalent working knowledge in the arena of steam and gas turbines as an Estimator, Scheduler, Project Manager, Technical Field Advisor, Superintendent or Supervisor

Physical Requirements

  • Travel for customer meetings, site visits, job walks, internal meetings, etc.
  • Located near major airport
