QHSE Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate, develop and manage all HSEQ policies and procedures.
• Conduct periodic reviews of the Plant’s HSEQ programs and update as necessary to meet applicable regulations and/or corporate directives.
• Maintain the environmental and safety compliance program to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local HSE regulations and standards.
• Review, update, and train employees on existing plant emergency response plans, spill prevention plans, fire prevention plans, risk management plans, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and other site-specific HSE plans and programs.
• Communicate with regulatory agencies as necessary to address environmental reporting, deviations, and notices of non-compliance.
• Coordinate and/or perform required environmental reporting and testing activities and ensure that required environmental programs and permits are properly implemented and that the Plant maintains full compliance with all permits.
• Ensure that quarterly Plant safety inspections and periodic environmental program reviews are performed, and corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
• Facilitate injury and near-miss investigations and generate related reports focusing on the root cause and ensuring that corrective measures are identified and implemented.
• Interface with EthosEnergy management team to assist in developing and implementing Plant annual HSE plans, goals, and strategies for improving safety and environmental performance.
• Conduct, manage and track safety and environmental related training.
• Maintain all required HSE and medical screening records as required by applicable regulations and/or company procedures.
• Strive to improve HSE skills and knowledge through continuing education and training.

• Quality systems + Auditing
• Maintain EthosEnergy learning management records
• Facilitate sourcing and booking mandatory training for site personnel
• Maintenance of site mobilisation systems including but not limited to inductions & mobilisation
• Collection and entry of site hazard identifications into client IMS system

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Demonstrated knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, accident/injury prevention, high risk work activities, contractor management computer and communication skills.
• Ability to deal with complex safety.
• Working knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Regulations
• Expertise in accident prevention and environmental and safety regulations
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Experience

• Experience in working in a Power Plant environment is preferred.
• Over 3 years in a similar HSE Management/ Superintendent role

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in HSE, Certification in Quality would be highly regarded
