In this role you will be responsible for bid estimates for the service industry in the package handling/conveyor market. Prepare, review the preparation and presentation of bid estimates with minimal supervision; propose, implement and use new automation techniques to enhance bid estimating processes, provide technical support and project management along various other duties as they relate to the management of field services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects, project tracking, and track costs versus budget.
  • Receives, reviews, and evaluates Requests for Quotations and understands scope of work to bid.
  • Prepares and submits quotations, including critical path schedules in Gantt Chart form.
  • Reviews quotations and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Creates job folders.
  • Manages field crews in a way that maintains customer relations.
  • Coordinates the field crew with the safety department to maintain safe work sites and a properly trained work force.
  • Coordinates with shop supervision to provide the tools needed to efficiently execute each job.
  • Dispatches the men needed for each job.
  • Monitors and maintains the quality of the field crew employees.

  • Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Computer Skills
  • To perform the job successfully, an individual should be proficient with estimating and spreadsheet software and should have knowledge of word processing software, e-mail and use of the Internet.

Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in mechanical material handling and conveying systems required.
  • Field superintendent experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Millwright experience preferred.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 to 8 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

  • May require heavy lifting, long hours and travel to job locations for on site meetings.
  • Ability to travel as some job sites may/will be out of state. #LI-HB1
