The Application Engineer is responsible for sales support activities and proposal generation for the Optimization & Upgrades product portfolio. These products include: i) Gas /Steam Turbine & BOP Control System Upgrade Solutions, ii) GT Performance Solutions (ECOMAX Auto Tuning/Remote Monitoring & Diagnostic Services), iii) Upgrade Solutions in support of larger integrated projects such as fuel/combustion conversions. The SAE II role is intended for a person with at least five years of experience. Success in this role will be measured by: 1) Speed and accuracy of response to proposal and technical queries for all OAU products and services as compared to standards. 2) Successful training of junior Sales Application Engineers and Regional Sales Managers. 3) Achievement of Target Sales Order Input and As Sold Margin for supported region.

Job Responsibilities

Proposal development around defined standard product solutions including technical scope development / estimating associated with customer/site specific requirements.
Communicate and advocate technical solutions to the respective buying influences within the client’s organization.
Provide product technical support to Regional Sales managers in order to select the most appropriate product configuration for the customer demand.
Respond to technical questions from prospective customers related to product applicability and capability.
Provide product technical training for Regional Sales Managers.
Provide input to management for the development of productivity tools to enhance the accuracy and speed of proposal development.
Provide input to Marketing for new product development initiatives.
Participate in the review of marketing collateral for technical accuracy.
Participate in a variety of presentations to prospective clients on the technical merits of the OAU offering. This can be webinars, trade show presentations, and customer presentations.
Perform site surveys to configure product solutions to specific customer requirements.
Provide technical training to clients enabling them to understand the scope of the EthosEnergy offering.
Develop improved tools for proposal generation, such as site surveys, proposal templates, and pricing tools.
Maintain accurate sales data within the CRM System.

Required Skills / Knowledge

Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external customers, and the operations/engineering community through effective team work
Be a lifelong learner with persistence and tenacious attitude about learning all the time- new sales techniques, technical competency.
Ability and interest in growing technical expertise into other OAU product lines. Desired:
Gas and/or steam turbine controls experience and/or operating knowledge
Plant or field experience with gas or steam turbine control systems.
Experience with common Programmable Automation Controllers such as Rockwell Automation, GE, Schneider.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years in a technical role aligned with one or more OAU product lines.

Education Requirements

Bachelors of Science degree (BS) in engineering related subject.

Physical Requirements

Limited to office work with occasional travel to site
