This position is require to build and assemble, ready for engineering test, a variety of steam turbines, centrifugal pumps, gears, centrifugal compressors and generators, regulating accessories and special equipment; also to disassemble all sizes and types of our product returned for repair and to reassemble after necessary repair or replacement parts are supplied.

Job Responsibilities

Build and assemble, or disassemble and re-assemble, ready for engineering test, all types and sizes of steam turbines, centrifugal pumps, gears, centrifugal compressors, generators, regulating accessories and special equipment with minimum supervision.
Align, layout, fit set and adjust for proper clearance, end play, and timing; disassemble after test, inspect for condition and for damage that may have resulted and make necessary adjustments, repairs and reports; re-assemble ready for shipment with minimum supervision.
Record data on prepared forms to document erecting results, clearances, etc. as required.
Determine extent of damage and make reports on customer returned units.
Remove burrs and sharp edges, mark, identify, preserve and protect parts as directed.
Detect and correct errors such as improper fits, alignment, clearances and similar mechanical errors, or cause to have corrected.
Consistently produce work of proper quality and of properly required quality.
Setup and operate mill, lathe, and surface grinder with minimum supervision.
Complete simple welding task with minimum supervision.
Be able to perform complex rigging with minimum supervision.
May be required to learn and perform basic blading fundamentals.
May be required to fulfill temporary assignments outside of home department including customer work sites.
Has a positive attitude toward safety; cleanliness, neatness, quality and quantity of work as well as respect for the comfort and safety of others.
Travel to customer sites and other EthosEnergy facilities to support as needed.

Required Skills / Knowledge

Requires the use of shop mathematics together with use of complex drawings, sketches, specifications, and charts. Use of variety of precision measuring instruments

Experience

Equivalent to on to three years trades training.
Seven or more years experience

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Technical schooling a plus

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift more than 25lbs unassisted
Standing for long periods of time
