EthosEnergy are currently recruiting for a Certified Inspector Class 1 to set up and inspect the complete range of the Company’s products including tools, gages, instruments and fixtures, using such facilities as may be available and required. Record data and measurements where required. Study inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, processing procedures and adequacy of the facilities to ensure quality of manufacture. Except for certification or otherwise make disposition of parts or product in accordance with Government regulations and/or Ethos Energy quality standards. Work closely with foremen, production inspectors and machine operators for maintenance of quality standards. Verify calibration of production and inspection measuring equipment. Average to above average skills in report writing and job close out. Provide job guidance to other inspectors during shift hours. Manage and maintain work area as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and instructions in preparation for inspection.
Set up and inspect purchased or manufactured finished or semi-finished parts, tools, instruments, measuring equipment and/or assembled units, including those returned for repair to determine conformance with drawings and specifications. This may include dimensions, concentricity, roundness, taper, surface finish, relationship to datums, or reference points, parallelism, flatness, shape, angularity, straightness, fits, completeness, material flaws, alignment, trueness, contact, cleanliness and non-destructive testing.
Set up, layout to inspect casting, bar stock, forgings and weldments. Explore defects as required.
May be requested to perform duties at vendor's plants.
Perform duties without assistance, except during designated training periods, but may consult with supervision and/or product liaison engineers for technical assistance.
Make suggestions and recommendations for disposition of parts or products in accordance with accepted practice.
Advise operators and report findings in matters relating to conformance of quality standards to shop foremen and/or quality control supervision. Initiate investigation to determine cause of discrepancies and advise production foreman of action required when supervisory decisions are rendered. Investigation may require the use of hand power tools along with various inspection techniques.
Attend instructional meetings as required.
Perform inspection duties in compliance with the Quality System and ISO 9001.

Required Skills / Knowledge

Completed trades courses or equivalent trade’s knowledge in the following are preferred:
Inspection requirements and techniques.
Drawing nomenclature and standards.
Quality control as related to Ethos Energy products designs.
Set up and use of measuring tools and instruments.
Non-destructive testing methods and equipment.
Certifiable to ASNT SNT-TC-1A in the following methods: Penetrant Magnetic Particle Ultrasonic
Materials and Processes.
Rudiments of statistical quality control.
Calibration
Positive Material Identification (PMI)
Basic knowledge and use of AutoCad or Microsoft Office programs. (Document and Drawing Retrieval)
Must pass qualifying tests.

Experience

5 year Inspector experience as Class A or B
Previous experience (3+ years) working in Quality Control, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering departments can be substituted for degree. Depth in mathematics and the ability to use and interpret blueprints.

Education Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent
Must pass basic qualifying test.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance performing rotary equipment evaluation in order to support the maintenance/repair process for industrial gas turbines, compressors and gear boxes and quality control inspection/analysis.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 25lbs unassisted
Stand and Sit for long periods of time
