We are seeking an experienced engineer with a background in steam turbine design or repairs to join our growing Application Engineering team.
As a Steam Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the technical and commercial aspects of EthosEnergy’s steam turbine operations by providing expert technical support to our sales team and building engagement with our customers to accurately define project scopes.
In this role, your evolving market knowledge will contribute to the growth and standardization of our steam turbine portfolio, which includes overhauls, component repairs, replacements, redesigns, and re-rate solutions. Additionally, you will support commercial strategies and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen our market presence and uphold our commitment to excellence and innovation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sales Enablement
  • Leads technical discussions with customers to determine customer’s CTQ and develop a scope of supply.
  • Perform site surveys when necessary to understand specific customer requirements.
  • Assist with selling strategy to fit our product capabilities and align with customer drivers. Commercial Support
  • Stakeholder for bid/no-bid reviews.
  • Lead technical guarantee discussions and evaluation of risk through coordination with core engineering. Legal/contractual risk is managed by commercial.
  • Coordinates technical portion of customer prequalification efforts. Proposal/Scope Development
  • Provides written technical information to be integrated by commercial into final proposal.
  • Reviews proposal request information (RFQs, bid docs, etc.) and provides clarifications and exceptions.
  • Performs on-site technical disposition of units during the normal outage cycle when the scope is complex. Product Management & Marketing Support
  • Understand our competition and our selling strategy.
  • Understand our customers’ markets and their challenges/drivers.
  • Help maintain EthosEnergy’s customer specific knowledge database (ownership, industry, plant equipment) Operations Support
  • Support of operations generally stops after project turnover but is sometimes necessary due to the extensive knowledge of the Application Engineers.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Required Skills / Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and operation of steam turbines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with short response time to sales and customer requests.
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrates effective listening and presentation skills.
  • Must have valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Fluent in English. Other languages preferable.
  • Willingness to travel. Desired:
  • Proficient in Salesforce CRM tool.
  • Knowledgeable in driven equipment like compressors and generators.
  • Knowledge of commercial risks (payment terms, margins, delivery, credit risk, warranty, title transfer, cash flow, performance guarantees)
  • Manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience

Experience

  • 5+ years in a technical role related to design, technical support, field service, or Application Engineering.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in an engineering related subject or equivalent technical experience in the product segment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for prolong periods of time, climb stairs, walk normal distances.
  • Ability to travel to visit customer plant sites, and EthosEnergy Facilities. #ZR #LI-HB1
