WGPW provides repair, overhaul and testing services of industrial gas turbine engines and modules. The WGPW Operations Director will be responsible for the scheduling and execution of work plans that support the site’s production requirements.

Salary Range as commiserated with education and experience: 145k – 170k base salary.

Job Responsibilities

  • The position includes but is not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Lead a team of hourly shop operations employees in the execution of engine overhaul and repair.
  • Manage and plan resource allocation to meet engine test schedule and shipment targets.
  • Establish and implement continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, and cycle times for operations.
  • Hire, train, develop and provide ongoing leadership of subordinate personnel.
  • Establish and maintain communication tools and structure to ensure team understands and delivers on schedule targets.
  • Devise methods to track, communicate and drive relevant operations metrics.
  • Work closely with the Production Control Manager, the MPA Projects Manager and the remainder of the leadership team as necessary to ensure commitments are met.
  • Hold self and team accountable to environmental, health & safety (EHS) culture, driving a safe workplace and environment.
  • Unyielding commitment to WGPW principles of compliance and integrity.
  • Perform any other job duties as assigned by the leadership team.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Ability to interpret documents such as purchase orders, shop routers, engine and equipment operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Excel and Access.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing or services operations, 5+ in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in shop operations/production scheduling/material planning/quality.
  • Experience Leading teams and delivering results.
  • Proven success in applying Lean Manufacturing principles and driving process improvements on the shop floor.
  • Experience in gas turbine repair operations.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced operations environment.
  • Proven project management skills.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering or other STEM area, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing or services operations, 5+ in a leadership role.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, and controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in high places and in outside weather conditions or be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, solvents, and oils. Some Travel may be required, less than 10%.
