The Machine Operator (Entry Level) position performs abrasive blasting and peening operations in the overhaul and repair of the company's product. This Grit Blast position follows standard industry practices and practices safe work habits to ensure production is performed in an efficient and safe manner.

Job Responsibilities

Prior to performing any work the employee is responsible to make sure he/she is using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Follow all personal safety, environmental, and hazardous material handling procedures and guidelines. Keep the area organized and clean. Verify that grit-blasting equipment is in acceptable working order. Ensure the proper blast media and pressure are utilized. Ensure in-process inspection equipment is within calibration. Report faulty operations in a timely manner to supervision.
Comply with process sequence sheets, travel routers, QA procedures, and repair manual procedures to satisfy customer and FAA requirements.
Upon completion of operation sign traveller, properly record time spent on jobs onto daily timesheet which are submitted daily to supervisor and move parts to the next operation.
Identify and report any problems relating to the product, process, or quality system to supervision.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills / Knowledge

Entry level considered as full training will be given
Knowledge of various shop hand tools.
Skilled in the use of various hand tools.
Able to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to organize workload to meet deadlines.
Communicate effectively (both written and oral).
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English per FAA Regulations.
Ability to use specified hand tools to achieve desired results.
Ability to think and concentrate for a long period of time.
Able to work as part of a team.
Ability to train others as required.
Flexibility with work schedule.
Ability to learn tasks required to perform the job.

Experience

Entry level considered as full training will be given
2-4 years of direct experience

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

Good Dexterity (grip, grasp, clutch).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Repetitive motion of hands and wrists.
Regularly stand with both hands in a blasting cabinet while performing duties.
Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, and crouch.
Exposure to noise.
Work is performed in a shop environment.
